Panorama at the Peak

“It’s wonderful to climb the liquid mountains of the sky. Behind me and before me is God and I have no fears.”
– Helen Keller

Have you ever reached a mountain’s peak and watched in awe at the beauty spread out before you? It was my first time to reach a mountain’s summit during this climb and it was a really breathtaking experience.  Tiring, yes, but the view and the sense of fulfillment I had were definitely worth every sore muscle and aching limb I felt the next day.

Photo taken in Osmeña Peak, Cebu’s highest point. It’s actually a stolen shot of our teenage guide who was so kind he volunteered to carry my backpack for me.

San Francisco Skyline as Viewed from the Mandarin Oriental

Of all the hotels we visited and stayed in at San Francisco, the Mandarin Oriental has the best views of the city hands-down.

In this picture, the Bay Bridge, Coit Tower and Alcatraz are visible but the most prominent structure here would be the TransAmerica Pyramid, which is the tallest skyscraper in the San Francisco skyline and one of its most iconic.

At the Beach…

At the beach, life is different. Time doesn’t move hour to hour but mood to moment. We live by the currents, plan by the tides and follow the sun…

The above quote is one of my favorite quotes about the beach and the accompanying photo is my favorite shot of Bluewater Sumilon’s ‘infinity’ pool.  It’s actually just a small pool made to look bigger and more impressive by the illusion of its edge appearing to merge with the sea.

The said photo also happens to be my desktop background.  I got inspired with posting it when after being glued to my laptop’s screen for hours, I realized my past week was so busy each day passed like a blur and I haven’t updated this blog in ten days.  It also made me realize how I miss going places.

I definitely need a break and look forward to my Batanes trip in late February.  🙂
