We visited T Shine Resort and Spa’s Zenith Rooftop Bar yesterday to celebrate a friend’s birthday.
Known for the above decor of a jeepney and its views of the sunset, our drinks arrived just in time when the sun was about to set.

T Shine Splash is their signature cocktail, with beer, calamansi shake, tequila, and other ingredients. I was surprised to see calamansi and tequila in the list of ingredients as their taste weren’t pronounced in this drink. I liked it, especially the presentation, though I wouldn’t recommend this to people who wanted something stronger.
My Chocolate Banana Shake was disappointing. It was bland, and the banana may not be ripe as it had an acrid taste.
The skyline was really pretty and fiery as the afternoon went.

For our appetizers, we ordered scallops and edamame.

The scallops were good and very cheesy. My friend was trying to eat healthy so she had the Edamame, which are boiled soybeans with a sprinkle of salt.
We had pizza as well.

I didn’t like it. It was bland and the dough was disappointing.
The Creamy Carbonara was good, though, but not its accompanying bread or the overcooked shrimps.

Another friend was craving for ramyun, so she ordered bowl.

They found it too spicy and because they know I don’t like spicy food, discouraged me from tasting it.
Another friend, having noticed the word ‘yummy’ in the name, ordered Yummy Roll and told us it had a spam topping.

It wasn’t spam, but seared spicy tuna. A, who had an aversion to raw food, promptly spat it out. I liked it and finished 2 pieces.
We also ordered Seafood Fried Rice, but I found it bland.

The Yakiudon was tasty and cooked just right, so I liked it.

Lastly, for dessert, we had Deep Fried Ice Cream.

It wasn’t as good as I expected. The ice cream tasted like (or may have been combined with) whipped cream. Its crepe was also too thick.
All in all, while I enjoyed our dinner – and it’s primarily because of the company – I wasn’t impressed with Zenith Rooftop Bar. It would have been okay if the dishes and drinks weren’t pricey, but they were, so the disappointment was more palpable. They were nicely presented, yes, but taste-wise, they were deficient.
Here’s their full menu.
